Let’s Talk

If you have a project, whether yours or one you’re backing, and need help making it real, get in touch.

About

I started as a deckhand and dive tender at sixteen, learning leadership, precision, and improvisation from ultra-capable mariners, divers, and engineers working in maritime salvage. That early exposure to hands-on complexity, real problems, and very real consequences involving tons of copper and steel shaped how I approach every project. (I’m not the diver, I’m the hand in the upper right corner.)

Since then, I’ve led businesses, advised, and built projects across Asia, the Caribbean, Oceania, the EU, and the US, collaborating with governments, NGOs, startups, universities, and private industry. Whether advising on energy strategy, leading construction teams on-site, or structuring grant-winning climate infrastructure, I bring focus, camaraderie, innovation, and improvement in challenging environments.

My experience includes:

  • Led a winning Horizon 2020 proposal for a Dutch net-zero greenhouse project

  • Led a full turnaround of the Caribbean’s largest marine construction contractor, increasing net profit 337% in two years and elevating performance into the global top tier, surpassing international best-in-class benchmarks by 78%

  • Principal at 3BL Labs, leading the development of FAIR-compliant data systems and digital-biosphere infrastructure to support large-scale island resilience initiatives.

  • Structured renewable-energy and storage projects for fundability in European and island markets

  • Built blended-finance pathways across EU grants, IDB mechanisms, private capital, and philanthropy

  • Redesigned tower field operations across Trinidad, cutting site-upgrade delivery from four days to one, reducing rework from 35% to near zero, delivering reporting in 12 hours instead of three weeks, and capturing 75% of market share within two months.

  • Delivered marine and shoreline infrastructure funded by the Inter-American Development Bank and island governments in politically sensitive and logistically constrained environments

  • Turned underperforming teams into high-output field units through disciplined, practical leadership

  • Designed microgrid, storage, and renewable-energy concepts for constrained and complex sites

  • Creating FAIR-aligned scientific data systems for global research field stations

  • Structuring renewable energy and storage initiatives for fundability in the EU and island markets

  • Advising the Estuary & Ocean Science Centre in San Francisco on strategy and funding

  • Supporting field deployment strategy for early-stage desalination and technologies

I specialise in making difficult, complex projects succeed through field-tested leadership, cross-disciplinary thinking, and the ability to bridge strategy with execution. My work spans renewable energy, ocean-based infrastructure, decentralised systems, and resilient design — always with a focus on solutions that work in the real world.

I’ve delivered successful outcomes in environments shaped by political pressure, logistical constraints, incomplete information, and legacy systems.

My strength lies in taking responsibility, clarifying the path forward, and driving projects from concept through to operational reality.

I’m not the guy in a visitor’s hard hat. I work in the field, earn trust, strengthen teams, and deliver.
